From bin to pride of place

Caitlyn 2 small

I attended a workshop on transferring images from laser copies onto fabric using gel medium and one of the little exercises was with a photo of my granddaughter. Unfortunately the transfer didn’t go as planned and her eyes were missing. I consider eyes to be such an important part of a face so I was very disappointed and on the point of throwing it in the bin. Then someone suggested I put the missing bits back in. I think she meant hand embroider but I immediately thought of digitizing! It took a little while and a few trials but in the end I am happy with the results.

The little portrait is A4 size.

Below are the steps in the process
