Dear community,
in this blog post you can find easy instructions for sewing a Christmas tee decoration).
To make the tree in this size, you will need 15 triangles sewn together.
List of materials:
Christmas fabric – enough remnants for 15 diamonds 7.5 cm wide
Volume fleece – also enough for 15 diamonds 5 cm wide
Coloured cardboard
Sewing thread in green and red
10 beads, either red or another suitable colour
Round rod 3 mm, approximately 30 cm
Instructions for the Christmas tree:
First iron H630 or H640 volume fleece onto stiff paper (coloured paper). Now cut 5 cm or 2″ wide stripes with the ruler and tracing wheel:
Cut these stripes into diamonds. To do this, lay the 60° line of the ruler parallel to the bottom edge and cut off the 5 cm or 2″ wide diamonds:
The strips of material, wider than the cardboard stripes (mine were 3″ or 7.5 cm wide) should now be cut into diamonds:
Use a glue stick generously on the edges and lay the diamonds with the wrong side of the fabric facing up. Turn down the edges of the fabric and press them down firmly, so that the points are carefully folded in twice.
The points should look as much as possible like this:
The finished diamonds:
Now fold these diamonds together into a triangle and hand stitch the edges together:
Test out the triangles by laying them in the shape of a little tree, like this:
or so:
Sew the triangles together at the corners, and sew in a small bead loosely:
Sew all 5 rows together:
Now all you are missing is a thin round rod at the bottom edge for stability:
Your little Christmas tree is ready. It makes a lovely Christmas decoration for a window.
It can also make a lovely Advent calendar with much larger diamonds and sewn-on rings.
Wishing you a lovely Advent period with lots of time for the many Christmas ideas here on the
