More Holiday Projects with the Grandchildren

I can’t believe it was a year ago that that I last posted about their holiday projects.  This time they made simplified versions of Ros’s Snap Easter Bags – no hand sewing, just machine sewing.

We added the ribbon tags to help open the pencil case.

I let them chose their fabrics from my stash.  Then I cut the fabrics and some felt for batting, spray basted the layers and they were ready to sew.  Euan is a natural and created lovely curvy lines (deliberate!) in his quilting.

Lots of concentration!

They both easily managed the quilting, sewing the sides with a straight stitch and finishing the seams with stitch #4.  I did cut the metal tape measure and cover the ends with duck-tape.  End result?  Two very pleased grandchildren.  We then made lots more for friends and other members of the family!!!
