How great is that cat-decoration ‘Home is where my kitty is’ from Inspiration 74??

It inspired me for a gift for a cat-lover-friend. Her house has mainly black and white decoration. That’s why I chose for a black fabric for the cushion and grey and red thread for the embroidery.

I adjusted the size in  BERNINA software V8, to be able to use the Maxi Hoop and checked sizes and settings and embroidered it on the BERNINA 700. 

There are so many settings you can adjust in this stand-alone embroidery machine.

How to embroider the cushion ‘Home is where my kitty is’ from Inspiration 74:

Mettler Poly Sheen was used in colours, light grey, grey and red:  150, 108 en 1703. You can find your own combination. It depends on the fabric color and the style of the home.

Hoop the stabilizer and pin the fabric upon it (floating, not hooped with the stabilizer), fixed with temporarily adhesive spray: Mettler Web Bond. It is a very helpful way to fix fabric to the stabilizers. Extra pins will help to prevent puckering.

And afterwards, I made a cushion with the embroidered pattern.
