Valentine Day think of your pets. Free file below.
Of course we all think of how to surprise our partnes and friends. But all of a sudden I realised how many people love their pet as a member of the family.
That’s why I want to make a Valentine project with a doggy twist. It is made in the#BERNINA Embroidery Software 8 and you can find it in ART, EXP and PES. Free download: Heart with dogpaw
What do you need for Valentine Day?
That depends on what you want to do with this file… I made a small bag, closing with a ribbon.
For my project I used:
- light coloured, middleweight cotton (like a trouser) size 24 x 36 cm,
- a dark cotton for the contrasting paw (11 x 12 cm),
- red satin ribbon of 40 cm,
- Mettler Poly Sheen colour 1703,
- sewing thread,
- Temporary adhesive spray Mettler Web Bond,
- Cut away stabilizer.
- Medium hoop
So let’s start to embroider for Valentine Day:
Fold the light coloured fabric in half and iron it.
Hoop the stabiliser and the fabric in the Medium hoop. Or lay it above and fix with temporary adhesive spray.
Embroider the first heart (it is slightly smaller than the outline of the finished heart). This will help you to position the contrasting fabric.
Fix the contrasting fabric with temporary adhesive spray.
Embroider the second heart.
Cut away all excess of fabric as close as you can.
Embroider the heart, with pawshaped holes.
Take the project out of the hoop, take away the excess of stabiliser in the back.
Finish the bag for Valentine Day for you rpet:
Overlock all edges of the fabric.
Fold the fabric with right sides together.
Close the sideseam and bottomseam, stitch a 1 cm seam.
Fold the top side over and iron..
Sew a 1,5 cm buttonhole UNDER the ironed folding line, as close as you can to the seam .
Sew the tunnel for the ribbon at app 2cm from the top.
Insert the ribbon with a safety pin.
Tie the end of the ribbons together.
You are ready! Valentine Day think of your pets. Free file to finish your project.
