The b05 ACADEMY is equipped with numerous functions. This includes 30 exclusive stitches (including Lycra and blanket stitch) and a fast, powerful motor. And if you want to go more slowly, the sewing speed can easily be adjusted for tricky sewing projects. The model also has an easy-to-attach finger guard and a large slide-on table for more sewing space.

The standard accessories include 12 different presser feet, including the zigzag presser foot (with sliding sole), buttonhole foot with slide, invisible-zipper foot, overlock foot, blindstitch foot, edgestitch foot and many more.

Sewing projects with free pattern

As part of the launch campaign, we have developed sewing instructions for a sporty shirt blouse and an upcycled jeans duffel bag. We are providing the tutorial for both projects free of charge. There is also a free pattern for the shirt blouse.

Sewing instructions for a shirt blouse

This fashionable piece with a floral pattern is quick to sew thanks to the illustrated step-by-step instructions. Simply pull the blouse on over a top or T-shirt to give your outfit a fashion upgrade.

Sewing instructions for the shirt blouse

You can find the sewing instructions and the free pattern on the bernette website at: www.bernette.com/shirt-blouse.

The pattern in sizes 34 to 48 is available to download as a PDF file in A4 or A0. When printing it out, make sure not to make any size adjustments. You can check this using the test square on page 1 of the A4 document.

In addition to the sewing instructions, there is also a sewing instruction video for the shirt blouse on the bernette YouTube channel. This shows you step-by-step how to sew your own blouse. If necessary, simply click on pause during the video so you can sew the blouse at your own sewing speed:

Subtitles with tips on the sewing steps can be turned on and off via the CC icon in the video settings at the bottom right. The icon to the right offers you the option to select the subtitles in different languages. The subtitles are currently available in German and English.

Sewing instructions for an upcycled jeans duffel bag

In addition to the shirt blouse, we are also providing you with upcycling sewing instructions for a duffel bag made out of jeans.

All of us must have a few pairs of old jeans in our closet that we no longer wear, but it would be a shame to throw away. So why not sew a duffel bag out of them? All you need are 2 to 3 pairs of jeans, 2 m cord (approx. 10 mm in diameter), some sewing thread (preferably extra strong) and a jeans needle for your sewing machine.

Denim is not only versatile, it is also durable, robust and always in fashion! What’s more, with this upcycling project you are also doing something good for the environment.

You don’t need a pattern to sew the practical upcycled duffel bag. You can find the sewing instructions with pictures here.

How-to videos on Youtube

Along with the sewing instruction video for the blouse, there are also a large number of how-to videos available on YouTube. These provide explanations for many usage questions. For example: How do you thread the machine correctly? How do you select a stitch? What is the correct way to attach the finger guard?

Best wishes,
