Embroider a cute cat with sewing thread

Embroider a cute cat with sewing thread,

In this blogpost, you will find information on how to embroider a cute cat with sewing thread.

You will notice, it is the same style as the springproject rabbit was. They match well together.

Of course, embroidery thread is your first choice, when you choose your supplies for embroidery.

Other threads, like sewing thread, can perfectly be used for embroidering. Standard sewing thread is about 1/5 heavier than embroidery thread Mettler Poly Sheen (dikte 120) en het heeft niet de glans van het borduurgaren. The overall surface is less shiny.

Today, I chose for Mettler Metrosene and Mettler Seralon (the color spools I liked in my stock) because the filling is setup with a curvy line pattern. I would like the lines to be very visible and clear with a thicker thread.  Look at the product specifications and you will find that it they are at first sewing threads, but can be used very well for embroidery, overlocking, and quilting.

The supplies:

  • Heavy weight cotton (for a cushion)
  • Buttons
  • Mettler Metrosene or Mettler Seralon in 3 contrasting colors (be sure you have enough thread on the spool, sewing thread is thicker than embroidery thread)
  • Cut away stabilizer
  • The embroidery file (in sizes 19,8 x 19,4 cm), click on this link to download: cat loops
  • The embroidery frame Maxi Hoop

Start embroidering with sewing thread:

Start embroidering in yellow, then take blue and finish with the mouth in red..

In this detailed picture, you can see the thread needs to be thick. The stitches are clearly visible and fill the body of the cat.

Take the embroidery project out of the hoop and cut away the stabilizer from the back.

Finish the embroidery project as a cushion. Another special gift? I’m not sure yet, I tink I would like to keep this one, but with a cute cat, your gift is always a hit!

What do you think of the cute filling in this embroidery file? Please let me know?
