Tutorial for the BERNINA Overlocker Cording Feet #L17 and #C17

With the Cording Foot, thin cords, wire, fishing line, pearl yarn or thicker yarn can be sewn into rolled hems, picot stitches or narrow seams. This makes this foot a valued partner for sewing reinforced edges or decorative ruffles. The cording guide allows to feed and sew cords up to 2 mm diameter.

Tutorial for the BERNINA Overlocker Gathering Feet #L18 and #C18

These feet are used for gathering single layers of fine fabrics while at the same time sewing them to a flat piece of fabric. The best results are achieved with the 4-thread overlock stitch. Decoratively gathering, sewing, and neatening in one easy operation – with the Gathering Feet from BERNINA on the machines of the L 8 Series, it is so easy!

Tutorial for the BERNINA Overlocker Blindstitch Feet #L19 and #C19

For blind hems, it is ideal when the fabric fold is only stitched through slightly, so that as little thread as possible is visible on the right side of the project. The guide of the Blindstitch Foot can be individually adjusted and thus makes it easier to sew blind hems. The results are fine, stretchy, and almost invisible seams; therefore, the foot is ideal for knits and stretchy fabrics. The Blindstitch Foot is also suitable for flatlock stitching along a fold or for heirloom sewing.

Blindstitch Foot # L19 is for overlock machines of the L 8 Series (L 850 and L 860). Blindstitch Foot #C19  is for overlock stitches on the on the L 890 Overlock/Coverstitch Combo Machine.

Tutorial for the BERNINA Overlocker Decorative-Thread Guide #L25

The thicker the yarn, the longer the stitch should be and the lower is the thread tension. This is where the Decorative-Thread Guide comes into play. It is ideal for sewing especially wide and long overlock stitches in seams and hems with thick yarn. But it can also be used for coverstitches or chainstitches with decorative threads in the chain looper. By bypassing the thread pre-tension, little to no thread tension is applied to the decorative yarn. Together with the machines of the L 8 Series, the Decorative-Thread Guide #L25 offers endless creative possibilities for your projects!

The Decorative-Thread Guide # L25 is compatible with all machines of the L 8 Series, the L 850 and L 860 overlockers and the L 890 Overlock/Coverstitch Combo Machine.

Tutorial for the BERNINA Overlocker Decorative-Thread Spool Pin #L26

Sewing with small parallel wound spools or with metallic yarn can be challenging. The Decorative-Thread Spool Pin #L26 ensures perfect results in such case! The thread is delivered more consistently for regular stitches, no matter whether you are sewing decorative, wide overlock stitches or shiny long cover and chainstitches. The Decorative-Thread Spool Pin is supplied with a foam pad, a centering guide for spools with a larger inner diameter and a spool disc.

The Decorative-Thread Spool Pin #L26 is compatible with all machines of the L 8 Series, the L 850, L 860 and L 890.

Tutorial for the BERNINA Overlocker Clear Feet #L27 and #C27

The Clear Feet provide better visibility onto the stitching area, may it be for decorative coverstitch sewing or practical but precise overlock stitches. They ease guiding the project precisely towards needles and knife. In this video you will see how to sew decorative lines of cover or chainstitch with decorative threads or how to sew in a tape with the tape guide included in both, #L27 and #C27. You can also sew an elastic tape onto your project with cover or chainstitch using the #C27 foot. Successfully sew beautiful practical or decorative seams with ease.

Clear Foot #L27 is for the overlock machines of the L 8 Series (L 850 and L 860). Clear Foot #C27 is for overlock, cover and combo stitches on the on the L 890 Overlock/Coverstitch Combo Machine.

Tutorial for the CS Lock Tool for BERNINA Overlockers

The CS Lock Tool was designed to secure cover and chainstitch when sewing seams that end in the fabric and hems in a circle. It is made of soft plastic and therefore gentle to thread and fabric. And therefor it is also ideal to secure overlock stitches in a visible circle. Especially when sewing visible seams, it is worthwhile to finish stitching straight and clean. Watch this tutorial to find out how the CS Lock Tool supports you in sewing beautiful seams and edge finishes.

The CS Lock Tool can be used with all machines of the L 8 Series, the L 850, L 860 and L 890. But this is not all, you can of course also use it with our other overlockers and coverstitch machines, may it be BERNINA or bernette. And I was told, it is also helpful if you want to clear something from under your sewing machine foot.

How do you like the new tutorals? I hope these make you want to use the one or other accessory in your projects. Did you find something new or tips for how to use what you already have? Hi Suzanne. Thanks for your inquiry. Of the listed accessories, the CS Lock Tool ist compatible with b68, however, with that machine it is already a standard accessory. All the listed feet are only compatible with the L8 Series, as the feet must match the feeddog and the needle geometry. However, the b68 also has a list of compatible accessories, which you find on bernette.com, accessories. Let me just name the set of transparent optional feet compatible with b62/68 or the set of metal feet, compatible with b64/68. Kind regards, Doris

Hi Alison. That was no trouble, gave me a chance to inform myself too on the actual status that we can unfortunately not really influence. Hope you get the stuff you want and need in due course! Kind regards from Switzerland, Doris.

Dear Barkat Khoja. Thanks for your feedback and inquiry. For a purchase, please check with your local authorised BERNINA dealer. Pricing may also depend on you having a machine to trade in – or being in need of optional accessories. But your dealer will give you the best tips and look after your specific needs. Kind regards, Doris.

Thank you for thegreat tutorials.  Will there be a height compensation foot for coverstitch?

Dear Jan Du Bois. Thanks for your feedback and inquiry. In fact yes, we are working heavily on having a compensating foot / floating toe foot for the L 890 soon, a foot similar as you may know it from the L 220 or 1300MDC. If you refer to the accessory catalogue, you will find all relevant details there, it is called C12, if you want to use the search function on our website catalogue link.
