Easily position and clamp quilt projects in the hoop by attaching repositionable clamps.
The thick acrylic template enables you to visualize accurate placement while providing proper tension during hooping.
Save stabilizer and fabric with the new BERNINA Medium Clamp Embroidery Hoop. This accessory is compatible the BERNINA 7 and 8 Series.

Thanks to this unique technology, you will save on additional stabilizer and fabric for hooping while enjoying the benefits of freearm embroidery with larger projects.
Moreover, the ergonomic twist-lock mechanism lets you hoop your projects with even more ease. Close the hoop by turning the twist-lock until you hear a distinct click.

Is there an updated ETA for the firmware update for the 750QE. I purchased the hoop in December as the site said the firmware would be available early in the new year. I am wondering why it is taking so long?
Dear Sharon,
The firmware is delayed and the website now states that the firmware will be released in Q4 of 2023. I am sorry to say you will have to wait a while longer. Should you have any further questions in regards to the firmware, please contact [email protected].
Kind regards, Ramona
I have now purchased the new square hoop. I have updated my software for 770 QE Tula pink. When I downloaded it said it would add the new hoops. The update was successful. I do not see the hoop. I am trying to calibrate it. It does not recognize it when attached and I can not proceed with the calibration. Did I miss something in the download? Or?
Dear Barbara,
There are two different Firmwares for the 770 QE: The one for machines with smaller Flash Memory Capacity and the one for machines with bigger capacity. Did you install the Firmware for the smaller Flash Memory Capacity by any chance? Maybe you had to take the smaller one because your machine does have a smaller capacity?
Kind regards, Ramona
I checked. I have lots of memory. And I downloaded the one with the bigger capacity. It recognizes the hoop but will not calibrate to centre position.
Dear Barbara,
I just checked with the firmware release notes and our technician, you should be able to install the regular Firmware Update on the B 770 QE Tula Pink Special Edition. Go to http://www.bernina.com/b770qe-support and Download the File “Firmware BERNINA 770 QE V39.08.08 (including Special Editions) – ZIP 120.53 MB” (or download it with this link). With this Firmware, you will be able to use your new square hoop. Let me know if you have more questions!
Kind regards, Ramona
Thank you. I did go back and find the right update. It now is recognizing the new hoops. But now I am having trouble calibrating it. I am following the instructions. First attempt it was way off. Second attempt about 1.5 inches off. And I can not get it to change from that. That is after garbage can, resetting to centre and saving. Am I missing something still?
Thank you for your help and quick responses.
Dear Barbara,
I never calibrated a hoop myself, but I suggest to check out Bea’s Blog article about calibrating a new hoop. She also references a video from BERNINA in the article, which might give you a hint on which step is missing. Just click here:
Calibrate new embroidery hoops before use
If that still does not help, then maybe you could write Bea a comment or you have a BERNINA Dealer near you who could help?
I really would like the square hoop for quilt squares. Some dealers in Canada have been saying they are coming but nobody seems to have them. Is there any update on supplies for Canada?
Dear Barbara,
My guess is they are still in transit, but I can’t tell you when they will arrive in the stores. It’s best to continue asking your dealers or maybe BERNINA Canada can tell you more.
Kind regards, Ramona
I have an Artista 630, can i use the new free arm frame?
Dear Kathryn,
I will ask our development team and get back to you as soon as I know more!
Kind regards, Ramona
Dear Kathryn,
I just tried the new Free Arm Hoop on the Artista 630 and even though you can attach it, I would not recommend it. You would:
– Need the Freearm Adapter for the S Module since the module otherwhise would be in the way
– You won’t be able to use the full width of the new embroidery hoop and risk that the hoop runs into your machine
– You also can’t choose it on the artista and there wont be a Firmware for the artista in order to select the hoop on the machine.
Therefore, the new Large Free Arm Embroidery Hoop is not compatible with the artista 630, only with the newer machines. If you do not have it already, I would use the Free Arm Adapter for Embroidery Module S and use the regular embroidery hoops instead.
Kind regards, Ramona
Hi I just purchased the square hoop and wish to know if I need to download and up date my Bernina 750 QE. I can see updates for later machines, but nothing for the 750.Please confirm and or provide a link to where the down load is please.ThanksJan
Dear Jan Jones,
As the website of the Medium Clamp Embroidery Hoop states, the Firmware Updates for older machines, such as the B 750 QE, are currently in revision and will be published in the support section of each machine early next year. The hoop can’t be used without the Firmware Update and you will sadly have to wait a little until you can use this exciting new hoop :(.
Kind regards, Ramona Wirth
