It’s a long time I have been planning to make embroidery in Hariri style. Did you ever see Julia Hariri’s artwork? Please Google for information. Because of copyright restrictions I can’t show you pictures. You will soon see how simple and naive her drawings are. They are mostly continuous line drawings. So, I’ll decorate a blouse with embroidery in Hariri style.
Is it a challenge to draw one yourself? You’ll soon find out! Especially for this purpose I purchased a simple light blue blouse. I will embroider the drawing on the right front panel.
It’s a bit a dull blouse, but it transforms totally with the decorative embroidery.
Let’s start the embroidery in Hariri style.
If you like this kind of artwork, designed in BERNINA Embroidery Software 9, you can find the free downloads in this link: (in ART 80, PES, EXP en HUS): Hoofd stijl Hariri
In the file, there is a second eye, but while embroidering, I decided to stop the embroidery machine BERNINA 700 before sewing the second eye.
Stitch density was decreased, to be able to embroidery with Mettler Seralon sewing thread. With this blouse, I like the colors 916 (dark blue) en 600 (red).
I embroidered in the Large oval hoop
After pinning, I used a basting stitch around the embroidery project as an extra fixation.
I’m ready to embroider 32.000 stitches.
The bastingstitch must be removed when the embroidery is finished.
The decoration with embroidery in Hariri style is finished.
And I like it!
I am going to try this form off embroidery as I am very interested in artwork done with one line.
