I come from a line of seamstresses/quilters. I started sewing Barbie and doll clothes when I was 8. First dress sewn, with help from my mother, at age 11. I made the majority of my clothing from that point on, throughout junior high, high school and college. I am a retired hospital nurse, with two grown children and 3 grandsons. I made a lot of my children's clothes, and now make pajamas for my grandsons. I also do some machine embroidery on their t-shirts, burp cloths, etc. I started quilting in 2005, and it has become my passion. Just about any kind of needlework appeals to me, and I keep my hands busy most of the time (hand embroidery, knitting, hand quilting, beading, sewing.) I especially love the geometry of quilting and the fact that there are no rules set in stone for how a quilt is made.
