Completed Quilt #2

Description

When I found the Bernina Sugaridoo Quilt-Along in September 2020, I was smitten with the idea of this quilt. I completed one by the end of October. Along the journey of completing that one, I was intrigued by the idea of another quilter to make it half-sized. They thought that the full-size quilt was too large. Well, I thought, I’m up for the challenge. And I began quilt #2. By the second week in November, I had completed six rows. Then on November 14th, my mother died. She lived in Canada, I live in the U.S., so it took some anxious days and finagling to obtain permission to attend her funeral due to COVID-19 quarantine restrictions. I was, thankfully, allowed to do so, without my husband and children. But ideas of finishing the quilt by November 26th went out the window. But then Irene graciously extended the deadline. With the encouragement of my husband, I decided to try to complete it. The last seam was sewn this morning! So thankful for everything I’ve learned along the way in making these quilts. Half-sized wasn’t necessarily easier (accuracy in cutting and sewing became that much more important), but it sure was fun.
