Plaid Moto Jacket

Description

This jacket was based on an inspiration photo I found online. I took the Ellie&Mac moto jacket pattern and modified it to fit my vision. I altered the collar shape and added the snap details. I also added more shaping during the fitting process. I love the challenge of plaid matching. It is a plaid coating paired with faux leather for the collar.
It was sewn on my Bernina 550. I used the zig-zag non-stick foot as it is very helpful to keep plaids matched when sewing and excellent for the faux leather.

This very attractive jacket is superbly pattern matched and executed. I know from experience just how much effort, time and mathematical machinations have to occur to get any pattern matching. You have done a beautiful job.

Thank you for your kind comment.  It is amazing how the projects that are the toughest always bring the greatest satisfaction and the extra time is all worth it!

Wow, what a gorgeous jacket and seeing how you mached the pattern is sparking a lot of joy. I love when patterns match neatly, it just shows that a sewist went the extra mile and put a lot of love and effort into the project. It really turned out amazing!
