The photo shows an arrangement at the wall. On top is a string with various shaped Christmas ornaments and Advent Calender pouches. On the bottom left is a shelf with a plant, a gift and wrapping paper, and on the bottom right are two dish towels with Christmas designs. The white towel has Santas mittens and says "Merry Xmas", the black towel shows Santas hat and says "Ho Ho Ho" in silver and gold.

Sewing the Christmas decorations

For the Appliqué designs on the towels, you will need an embroidery machine, some fabric scraps and stabilizers. Metallic threads for lettering and stars give your towels additional sparkle. If your thread tears too often when embroidering, try lowering the thread tension, adding a Thread-lubrication Unit or attaching a Metafil needle. These options can help reduce the tearing of the metallic thread.

The ornament shapes are first traced on felt, but do not cut them out until the end. Next, add any kind of decoration to your ornaments. You can try some of your decorative stitches or use the Circular embroidery attachment # 83 to add beautiful details (f.e. on the star). Then add a second layer of felt on the left side, sew along the outline and cut it out in the end. You could also stuff the shape to have more of a 3D effect.

The Christmas decorations like the ornaments and pouches are individually decorated. The pouches feature lettering like "Elf" or numbers for the Advent Calender. The felt ornaments in the shapes of a yellow star, red drop, peppermint lolly and candy cane hang inbetween the pouches.

The pouches can be used as Advent calendar or gift bags. The decorative fabric and elements are attached before the bag is folded right side on right side and then closed on the sides.
