Free sewing pattern and embroidery files for the dress “Jasmin” (June only)

The loosely fitting dress “Jasmin” with wing sleeves is perfect for warm days, and the generous floral embroidery in white is the attention getter par excellence. You can download the pattern, instructions and the “Sepia Petals” set with 43 embroidery designs for free until June 30, 2023. The download process is different then usual, so be sure to check the paragraph “Download the free sewing pattern and embroidery designs for the dress “Jasmin” (June only)”.

As always, you’ll have to be quick because each pattern and embroidery designs are only available for free download in the month stated.

Model wears a black, loose fitting dress out of light fabric, which has white floral embroidery on the shoulders. The sleeves are wide therefore look ruffly.

Sewing the dress “Jasmin”

If you decide to embroider your dress, then do not cut your fabric yet! First, mark the outlines of the whole upper front part on the fabric. You want to embroider it first, and then cut it out. This will make hooping the fabric and preventing shrinkage a lot easier. Find the tutorial with pictures in this blogpost.

Cut out your pattern pieces and sew them together according to the instructions. The dress itself is easy to assemble, the neckline facing and pockets are fast to make!

The picture shows a pocket inside the side seam of the dress.

Unzip the zip file containing the pattern

In case you download the zip file instead of the pdf’s, this is what you will find in the extracted folder:

  • Sewing instructions with information on materials, cutting out and sewing
  • A pattern in A4 and US Letter format. You can print this out on your regular printer at home and stick the sheets together. Make sure you print out the pattern using the “original size” setting. Check the test square to make sure the pattern has been printed out in the correct size.
  • A pattern in A0 is also provided. You can print it at your local print shop.

Please note that clicking the download button will automatically download the zip file to your computer. You will have to unzip it to access the PDF pattern. In Windows, you do this by right clicking on the file and clicking on the menu item “Extract all”. On a Mac, you can unzip zip files by double clicking the left mouse button.

Downloaded files are generally automatically put into the downloads folder, but this depends on the operating system, the device used and your local settings. If you download the file on your smartphone and cannot find the file or cannot unzip it, please try using a desktop computer.

      Dear Karin,
The voucher code is JASMIN_6/23, so you missed the underline. That is why the voucher did not work for you. If you have already paid for the pattern, please contact the inspiration Magazine to reverse the transaction, since I do not have access to their system. You can contact them here: Contact inspiration shop

      Kind regards, Ramona

I found the instructions, pattern, and beautiful design files but I have a couple of questions. The instruction file name says 7 pages but it is only 1 page. Is that all it’s supposed to be? I wasn’t sure which file format to download to print the pattern in a normal home printer with 8+1/2 x 11 paper. ???

      Dear Mary,
The numbers in the file name are not to say how many pages there are, it’s just how it was saved. The instructions are one page only, but if you have any questions or wish to see pictures of the process, go to Bea’s article where she shows how she made the dress: https://blog.bernina.com/en/2023/06/tutorial-for-the-free-dress-jasmin-from-inspiration/

8.5 x 11″ is the US Letter size. US sizes are based on the imperial system, so ‘Letter’ size is 8.5 by 11 inches, whereas the equivalent A4 size in inches is 8.27 by 11.7 inches. So you have to use the US letter file for printing your pattern with your printer at home. Since the readers of the Blog and inspiration Magazine are from all over the world, we provide both formats.

I would like this dress pattern.  I don’t have a Bernina Embroidery Machine, but maybe I can use files for a different manufacturer.  Please guide me to get the dress pattern.  Thank you!!!

      Dear Barb,
The process how to download the pattern is descriped in the article. Scroll to the title “Download the free sewing pattern and embroidery designs for the dress “Jasmin” (June 2023 only)”, just above the technical drawing of the dress. There you get the link to the dress, the voucher code for the pattern and as it says, just use the code during checkout and you will be able to download it later on.

The download links are just above this comments section…scroll up! I am not affiliated with Bernina in any way, but it’s too much to ask for this to be emailed when both the dress pattern and embroidery files are provided free.
