We look forward to seeing many quilters!

It’s been a good learning experience so far, but I am expecting the quilting with rulers to be more challenging.
Dear liannf,
Just to make clear: Your comment on this article does not enter you into the prize raffle. If you want to join the halftime giveaway, please do the following:
– Either post your Quilt top on Instagram, tag @Sugaridoo and add #OneTwoTreeQAL to your post (be aware that your profile has to be public, we can’t see posts of private accounts)
– Or register an account on the BERNINA Blog and then create a Post in the Community Section, using “One Two Tree QAL” from the dropdown list.
These are the two ways you can enter the price raffle. Good luck!
Kind regards, Ramona from BERNINA International
hello, decision’s to be made. How to position and appliqué down the birds and moons.

I’m late posting this – first I was procrastinating because I’ve never tried paper piecing (turns out I love it, even after sewing multiple pieces on backwards). Then I couldn’t figure out how to log on and post – crossing my fingers this one is the right spot.
Here’s the latest blocks
@ Irene, are we getting the pattern for Luke today?

Here’s my Flynns, had a little problem with the small tree corners, cut fabric larger to fix! Enjoying the process! Rainbow colors on off-white. Jan McCann[/caption]
Winter is what I am going for so grey scale is what I went for. Here are my fabric selections and Flynn x 4. I was too stingy when cutting fabric so my first Flynn was a bit difficult to work with since my background is directional. There are a few pieces I had to recut. After that, I start to cut bigger pieces so it make sewing so much easier. I can’t wait for the next pattern release now I am getting down the steps for FPP and make less mistakes.

Hi, Flynn x 4 completed. I had a little trouble with the very small pieces as I have never done any paper piecing before. After much unpicking I finally worked it out. Here are the finished trees
I’m wondering why my picture is under the name of Caroline?
Dear Cheryl,
I do not know why your picture was posted by Caroline. But thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will delete this comment this afternoon, once you have seen my answer.
Kind regards, Ramona
So excited to join this QAL and make my first quilt. Thank you Irene for choosing these lovely colours and pattern.
I have been wanting to learn ruler quilting and free motion quilting, so I am going to take the plunge and join this project. I love the green and teal. Can’t wait to start!
I love your backing!! its perfect. do you mind sharing the name?
Here’s my rainbow for the QAL, minus a few purple/pink shades and some white with pale yellow swiss dot background fabric that’s still in the mail. I started quilting during lockdown and am excited to start developing more “advanced” skills!
Yay for you! A good thing happened because of Covid!
My fabrics arrived yesterday, just in time to post for Jan 7th. I am looking forward to getting started on this QAL. Going to work on the back later today.
Hello Everyone! This is my first QAL. I have only been quilting for 2 yrs and I love that this QAL is for piecing and quilting. I look forward to learning some new techniques/skills and improving on others. I chose the rainbow trees with the off-white background.
I am really excited to get started on this.
Hello fellow quilters! These are my fabrics for this year’s QAL. Can’t wait to get started!
I’m looking forward to seeing this when it’s finished. The big trees are a great way to show off Kaffe’s large scale designs!
I chose a few of my hand-paints on Hoffman Lawn and the batiks named Nuance from SewBatik in North Dakota, USA. I am going to hand-paint a background.
I love the colors and I am so excited to learn new things!
My fabric pull contains some patterns in teal and green. Charcoal for the trucks. Leaning toward white for a background.
”Trunks” not trucks 🙂
Great choices, are you on Instagram?
Beautiful fabrics, nice and fresh 😊

Looking forward to starting the QAL![/caption]
So excited for my first QAL!! Going with a more traditional variation of greens for my trees.
I’m ready for the new Sugaridoo quiltalong. The first was so much fun. I’m sure this one will be too.
My first QAL. So excited!
I went with the green and teal shades on the light gray background. Looking forward to getting started!
This will be my first quilt along! I fell in love with the rainbow on pink kit.
So pleased Irene is doing another QAL as I learnt lots. Got my fabric ready for SUGARIDOO One Two Tree QAL. Chosen the silver for the background colour. Rulers still to buy.
Forgot to add the tree trunk colour
I love your fabric selections
I have the Taj ruler, the Good Measure straight ruler, a couple of curved rulers, a set of another brand of circle rulers and Gina Perkes “June” ruler in two sizes. I am sure I can use what I have to create very similar designs on my quilt. I would love the mini Lolipop set, but I think the ‘June’ rulers I have will work fine.
This is Jan McCann again, here’s a picture of the quilt fabric kit and rulers – be using them soon!!!
My first QAL – and am looking forward to learning more about machine quilting with rulers, also I’ve just completed my first Q20 quilted quilt! I ordered the rainbow colors on white. Jan McCann from Michigan.
So how do you like the q20? Which table? I so want a Bernina q series
My fabric choices for the Sugaridoo Bernina QAL #OneTwoTreeQAL. I ordered the Green/Teal version. Already have a few rulers, but hoping Taj will come for Christmas…
Hi From Australia, Looking forward to joining in on this QAL. Just wondering if the competitions are open to International entrants??? thanks
Hi Abbie, yes they are! Everyone can join, from everywhere 🙂
Hi Abbie, my name is Renee and I am also from Australia. I was also wondering this and emailed Irene to find out. Thanks for asking the question.
Scrappy rainbow on charcoal background. Can’t wait to learn more about free-motion quilting!
My first QAL. I have chosen the PinkOrange on OffWhite kit, I love the colours. Patchwork is a new skill I am learning since our first lockdown. Looking forward to the challenge of a QAL and maybe trying some Free Motion Quilting. I also hope to get plenty of tips from the other more experienced quilters.
Joined the tree QAL. I’ve wanted to tackle FMQ on domestic machine for awhile, now is my chance. My generous daughter has gifted me a kit and all the rulers for Xmas and it shipped yesterday. She entered the wrong address to a neighbor down the street. Gonna go meet my neighbor today and hopefully when the kit arrives I will be notified. I live in Austin TX so I figure a couple of weeks shipping time. Thank you for hosting.
Couldn’t purchase a kit. So thank-you Irene and Bernina for permitting us join anyhow. This is what I pulled from my stash. I am excited about doing my first QAL. I plan to do a plain colored tree quilt and a flowered tree quilt. Not sure about which background fabric to ise for my flowers…..maybe both?

Ordered the rainbow on off white but here is my backup plan if it doesn’t arrive in time…
My fabric choice for the Sal.
Hi All. I’m excited for Sugaridoi’s 2nd Quilt Along #OneTwoTreeQAL. I chose the rainbow fabrics. Funny though. I don’t remember if I chose the pink background or the white background. Either way, it will be beautiful.
My first qal! I really enjoy Irene’s positive attitude and I am looking forward to learning more about quilting and fmq! Happy quilting from Nashville TN!
Excited to join this quilt along. This will be my second quilt (I retired and joined a craft group and my fellow crafters had decided to do a quilt as their next project – learnt a lot but made quite a few mistakes, and had to have it professionally quilted.) One of my fellow crafters is going to try this at the same time so we can encourage each other. We live in Australia, so with the time difference we may not get to join the live shows but thanks to Youtube and due to Corona Virus I have been watching quite a few quilting videos. The talent that you ladies have is amazing, thanks for inspiring others to have a try at something new. Cheers and looking forward to this adventure
