Advent Calendar 2023 ‒ the 24th door

Dear Readers

On behalf of the entire BERNINA team and all BERNINA bloggers, I wish you a Merry Christmas! Enjoy the time with your loved ones, have a good New Year and stay creative.

Behind the 24th door of our Advent calendar there is no tutorial and no sewing inspiration. Instead, we want to say thank you for your loyalty – with a video and a raffle where you can win a great prizes.

The new BERNINA Christmas video

How does Santa actually manage to fill all those stockings? Since the publication of our new Christmas video at the beginning of December, the answer is obvious:

Have you been good this year and found a stocking full of presents? Then the BERNINA presser feet must have been at work. Our camera team was lucky enough to observe the little sewing helpers during their Christmas activities. We got some rare shots 😉. See for yourself:

Share the video on social media!

Would you like to share the Christmas video on Instagram or Whatsapp or other channels? You are welcome to do so. The more people who find out about our little feet’s secret Christmas activities, the better.
We are happy to provide you with the video as an MP4 file. You can download the video under the following links, in two versions, one in full length and one shortened to 60 seconds.

Download videos for WhatsApp
Download videos for Instagram and Facebook

If you click on the link, the ZIP file will automatically download to your computer. You will usually find it in the Downloads folder, but this depends on your device and your local settings.

Unzip the ZIP and the video is available as an MP4 file. You can then upload it to Instagram, Whatsapp and other channels and hopefully bring a smile to many people’s faces! Please use the hashtag #BERNINAxmas2023 on Instagram.

A big thank you to the authors

On behalf of the BERNINA team, I would like to thank you all very much. A big thank you goes to the authors who keep “the store” running with their creativity and passion. But you, dear readers, also deserve a thank you. With your comments, photos of your sewing projects, Facebook likes and Pinterest shares, you make the blog a lively creative platform. We hope that we were able to provide you with inspiration for your textile creations last year and that you will visit us again next year. It would be our pleasure!

Thanks for the competition, would love to win those brilliant prizes! I like reading the Bernina blog to learn new techniques (particularly related to quilting and textile art) but also value the sewing tips  and information on getting the most out of my Bernina machines. I also enjoy seeing ideas for small projects that I can make as gifts or just for the satisfaction of a quick finish. Keep up the great work and all the best for 2024!

just love the blogs and tips that come with super regularity from Bernina. There is always something new or interesting and it is a wonderful place to go to when needing help with difficult fabrics or techniques. The blog gives me enough to use my embroidery software and machine, as well as my overlocker and sewing machine optimally! The video was super cute and very imaginative.  Bernina really does inspire you to want to have a go at so many different and creative projects.  Can’t get bored doing the same things with a Bernina. My mother taught my sister and I on her Bernina and our first machines were Bernina. I’ve never owned anything else.  We even had Bernina at school! Now at 64yo I am loving my Bernina even more.

The little Bernina presser feet Christmas messages are a joy and always bring a smile to my face! How about the walking foot doing Santa deliveries next year. I bought my first Bernina in 1965 and passed it on to my son when I bought my new 570 QE – I wouldn’t be without it and love all the inspiring ideas in the Bernina blog.

So many downloads and so many ideas, they keep me busy all the time. The children love the soft toys and I love how the patterns are so easy to follow. The Advent Calendar was a fantastic idea and I just love the videos about the new presser feet, they don’t necessarily give you an idea of what each foot does but they are such fun it forces you to look up what they do. It is great fun seeing what other members have made and to find out what they find easy and hard. I would really miss the blog if it wasn’t around because I have learnt so much from it, where to find things, how to do things, gift ideas and it is all free.

I am interested in projects that re-use fabrics or materials again making them into something else. We have to encourage reducing our footprint and re-using what we have already in fabric and materials…this needs creativity and concern for our environment. So that would be of great interest to me and I hope others as well.

    Hi!
I really like the idea of a regular Bernina blog so I can learn about different sewing ideas and techniques and also different functions of my machine (especially as I am fairly new to Bernina). My only request would be to see more of a range of sewing techniques – there’s a lot of embroidery but I’d like to see quilting, home furnishings and dress making also. I would be interested to see a mix of sewing and overlocking posts as I am very interested in a Bernina overlocker too! Bernina have been so helpful with some queries I’ve had on my 770 and I’m really happy with my new machine.

The daily Advent posts have been very enjoyable and helped me get into the Christmas spirit despite a difficult year. The regular blogs have also inspired me to sew more. They always carry a wealth of information, which I am able to share with my granddaughter – my sewing buddy, aspiring costume designer, and now also a proud Bernina owner.

Bernina’s  blog is a great read as it has a range of articles, patterns and useful posts. The product information on presser feet is very useful: the  ideas and tips for using the feet has led me to buy several. I loved this year’s Advent calendar of ‘makes’ which has kept me busy reading and stitching throughout December. Finally, I love the pattern of the month feature – after all who can who can resist a freebie!

Thank you for the lovely  patterns and projects you are sharing with us.  Happy holidays from Texas!

I get a bit lazy about starting/finishing projects.  The Bernina Blog  is a gentle reminder to get my machine out to finish those projects in my “compost heap”, to try new things and to learn what  my machine can do beyond the basics.
